• Make friends carefully
Don’t be careless while making friends. A true friend should always show you the right path and correct you when you go astray. So keep this in mind while being friends with anyone.

Don’t just grab the chance to talk. Allow other person to speak and listen patiently to what he or she is saying. This helps in going a long way to building a good relationship.

Try and maintain calm even when you are angry so that you don’t hurt your friend’s feelings. It’s likely that you are upset about something and reply back rudely to your friend.
• Empathize with your friend
If your friend is going through some tough situations in life, show empathy rather than give suggestions. Perhaps they are already stressed due to their circumstances and even if you try and give friendly advice, they probably won’t be in a state to understand what you say. Allow them to make their own decisions.

Truthfulness is the most important element in any relationship. Be honest in your relationship. Don’t hide your beliefs, values, and point of view, from your friend.
